Liverpool is “obsessed” with attempting to sign the talented 21-year-old to Anfield.
This summer, Liverpool brought in four new midfield players, but manager Jurgen Klopp is “obsessed” with trying to bring in another promising young player for Anfield by 2024.
Prior to the current campaign, the Reds added Wataru Endo, Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Ryan Gravenberch to their roster; however, they have been linked to a number of midfielders before the winter transfer window opens.
One target is reportedly Man City’s Kalvin Phillips, an England star who is anticipated to leave the Etihad. However, Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Liverpool is “obsessed” with signing midfielder Ezequiel fernandez of Boca Juniors, despite Benfica and AC Milan’s interest in the player.
Despite his young age, the 21-year-old is already making a significant impact in Argentina after playing 43 games for Boca.
Alexis Mac Allister, who is a big fan of his countryman, has reportedly urged the Reds to make a move for the defensive midfielder as soon as possible, according to the Liverpool Echo via TeamTalk.
It’s possible that the World Cup winner will help Liverpool win the competition for Fernandez, but it’s unclear if the Merseyside team will formally bid for the Boca star.
