Milan continues to struggle in the third match of the Champions League group stage as they once again failed to score. The team heavily relies on Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao for their offensive firepower, but their recent performances have left much to be desired, according to Sky Sports.

Olivier Giroud, who had a promising start, last found the back of the net on September 1st during Serie A’s third matchday against Roma. Since then, his performance has regressed, if not worsened. On the other hand, Rafael Leao, the Portuguese star, hasn’t scored in six appearances, including international fixtures, making his season tally modest with just three goals in 11 appearances, albeit with three assists. His last goal came on September 23rd.

Apart from Giroud, Leao, and the more consistent Christian Pulisic, Milan lacks other significant attacking options. Samuel Chukwueze, another potential asset, is sidelined with a thigh strain and is unlikely to return until mid-November. Noah Okafor missed the PSG match due to muscle fatigue but is expected to make a comeback soon. Luka Jovic, who suffered a thigh injury while warming up, is undergoing further evaluations, but it seems he has avoided any serious issues.

Milan’s attack has been a cause for concern despite their efforts in the summer to reduce their dependence on Leao and Giroud. The only new addition, Christian Pulisic, has proven effective, while the team also requires more contributions from the midfield. Ruben Loftus-Cheek might be the sole midfielder capable of scoring consistently.
