Ryan Day updates injuries to quarterbacks
“He’s viable, for sure”
Since Devin Brown was hurt during the team’s victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions last month, the Ohio State Buckeyes have been without a quarterback. However, it appears like Brown might play this week if the Buckeyes needed him.
At this stage of Kyle McCord’s injury rehabilitation, Devin Brown is a “viable” backup quarterback for Ohio State, according to head coach Ryan Day during a news conference this week.
“He’s definitely viable,” Ryan Day remarked. “After a whole week of practicing here, he’s almost back to 100 percent. That’s been fantastic, and we will require his presence here in the last stages. You can never be sure how everything will work out. Therefore, we will be better the more guys we get back.
Naturally, this does not imply that the Buckeyes will play Brown unless absolutely necessary.
Ohio State has utilized Brown as a change-of-pace quarterback in the red zone this season, utilizing his running abilities when faced with short yardage situations. Brown might not be nearly ready to return to his red zone position, even if it sounds like he could play if McCord is unable to.
