Ohio State vs. Michigan State game score: live updates and highlights.

After defeating Nebraska last week to end a six-game losing streak, Michigan State football is looking to keep up the good work this week when it takes on Ohio State, the top-seeded team in the College Football Playoff rankings.

After their turbulent season both on and off the pitch, the Spartans team was in dire need of good news, and their victory over Nebraska was cathartic. However, this week’s road game at Ohio State, a team the Spartans haven’t defeated since 2015, makes things much more dangerous.

The game will be broadcast on NBC and begin at 7:30 p.m. from Columbus. Ohio State is the home favourite by 32.5 points.

Highlights and updates for Michigan State vs. Ohio State
Second quarter, 0:15: With a touchdown pass from Kyle McCord to Cade Stover, Ohio State leads 35-3.
Tonight’s performance has not yet revealed Ohio State’s offensive shortcomings for the current campaign. In just over a minute and eight plays, the Buckeyes covered 74 yards thanks to hard-hitting passes that MSU was unable to stop. Before the half, McCord found tight end Cade Stover with one of his best passes of the game, a back shoulder throw down the seam. Stover twisted to make contact with Jordan Hall in coverage and grab the pass.

Second-quarter score: Ohio State leads 28-3 after TreVeyon Henderson rushes for a 9-yard touchdown.
Another extended touchdown drive by Ohio State ended without a touchdown from Marvin Harrison Jr., but it was a response to Michigan State’s opening points of the game. This time, Ohio State maintained possession of the ball and allowed TreVeyon Henderson, their top rusher, to pass through Angelo Grose from nine yards out to extend the lead to 25. Xavier Johnson, the running back, burned Aaron Brule on a wheel route to gain 31 yards for Ohio State, the majority of which came on a play that set up the touchdown. Ohio State gained 70 yards in six plays.

Jonathan Kim makes a 53-yard field goal at 5:38 in the second quarter to give Ohio State a 21-3 lead.
Michigan State had yet another drive stall just past midfield, so it won’t be a shutout loss. Nathan Carter’s first-down run put MSU in field goal range as the team began the drive at its own 45. MSU settled for another long kick after being limited to just one first down. Jonathan Kim split the uprights on this 53-yard kick, hitting the mark exactly this time.

Second quarter, 14:58: Marvin Harrison completes a TD hat trick from the first half, putting Ohio State ahead 21-0.
There is nothing Michigan State can do to stop Marvin Harrison Jr. Ohio State’s 13-play, 84-yard drive came to an end when the top receiver scored an eight-yard sla

nt touchdown. Michigan State attempted to implement a blitz, but McCord quickly found his favourite target to make the score 21-0.

Harrison Jr. has seven catches for 72 yards, two receiving touchdowns, and a 19-yard rushing touchdown through one quarter and two seconds.

First quarter, 6:56: Marvin Harrison Jr. catches a 26-yard touchdown pass to give Ohio State a 14-0 lead.
Marvin Harrison Jr.’s performance against Michigan State will be featured prominently when he is chosen in the first round of the 2024 NFL draught.

Four plays after the field goal attempt, the all-star wide receiver struck gold again, this time on a deep shot of 26 yards in the end zone corner. Chance Rucker, a true freshman, matched up with Harrison one-on-one and followed him every step of the way but was unable to get his hands on the well-positioned ball. To guarantee the score, Harrison spun around and tapped both toes in the end zone before pulling the ball in.

First quarter, 8:26: Ohio State leads 6-0 after Michigan State misses a 56-yard field goal.
Against Ohio State’s top-ranked defence, Michigan State was able to gain 36 yards on their opening drive, setting themselves up for an early lead. On a third-and-three, Katin Houser completed two passes for a total of 31 yards to Alante Brown and Montorie Foster, but was unable to scramble for a first down to force a field goal attempt. Strong-legged Jonathan Kim of MSU trotted out to try a 56-yard field goal; he had the distance, but he mishandled the kick, pushing it outside the left upright.
