BEST IN SHOW: MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS

As of right now, Michigan State leads the Big Ten 2024 class rankings and is ranked eighth nationally in general.
Kur Teng and Jesse McCulloch were recruited early on by Tom Izzo and his staff, who then used a recruiting war with Alabama to bring in Jake Richardson, the son of former Spartan standout Jason Richardson, to round out the class.
It’s a fitting recruiting class for the Hall of Fame coach to have a versatile big man in McCulloch, a rugged two-way guard in Teng, and, most importantly, a dynamic combo-guard who can create for himself and others in Richardson.
It’s also possible that the Spartans are not finished yet. There are just two teams that have Brandon Tucker: Michigan State andon a visit and might have a chance to sign the top-25 player in the second signing window.
FIRST UP: THE MICHIGAN WOLVERINES

Following a challenging offseason in which Hunter Dickinson was rejected and Caleb Love was denied admission, some began to wonder if Michigan would be able to compete successfully in recruiting in this new era.
When it came down to it, the Wolverines had assembled a strong class; however, this weekend’s addition of Khani Rooths, their highest-ranked commit since 2021, put the cherry on top.
The Wolverines scored big points when they acquired Rooths, a gifted and adaptable forward with upside, to go with Christian Anderson, a hard-working point guard, and Durral Brooks, an extremely aggressive scorer.
Juwan Howard stood with his back to a wall.on the trail, but he disregarded everything strange and gave a fantastic recruiting speech.

With Rutgers, where do we even start? This programme has been revived by Steve Pikiell, who has also assembled an incredible class for the Scarlet Knights.
Rutgers has the second-best class in the Big Ten and the ninth-best class in the country overall. They’re not even done yet!
The three three-star recruits Lathan Sommerville, Dylan Grant, and Bryan Dortch make up Rutgers’ four-man class, but Ace Bailey—the nation’s third-best recruit overall—is the standout member.
Rutgers is out, as I mentioned. They have established themselves as the leader in the locker room for No. 2 pick Dylan Harper and are still very much in the running.total number of recruits nationwide.
You heard me right—when all is said and done, Rutgers might wind up with the nation’s No. 2 and No. 3 overall recruits! The Scarlet Knights might have one of the top five recruiting classes in the nation.
Watch the Indiana Hoosiers this winter.
SCORING THE MEETING
1. Michigan State Spartans: Tom Izzo is still going strong both on and off the court, even though other legendary head coaches are retiring. As he looks to continue competing for another Final Four, he has a top five team and another strong recruiting class coming in that ranks No. 8 nationally.
2. Rutgers Scarlet Knights: With their actions on the recruiting trail, Rutgers has taken the college basketball world by surprise. They may not be done yet, as they have an extremely intriguing class that includes three-star recruits with upside who are paired with Ace Bailey, a premier talent.
3. Purdue Boilermakers: In 2024, the Boilermakers will field a strong five-man class. The class of Matt Painter is led by a top-25recruit in Kanon Catchings; naturally, he also needed to acquire Daniel Jacobsen, a 7-foot-3 big man.
4. USC Trojans: In preparation for their Big Ten debut, Andy Enfield and the Trojans have put together a three-man class. Liam Campbell and Brady Kozlowski are two of their talented shooters, but Trent Perry stands out as a top-75 recruit who is a fierce competitor and a playmaker who can score points.
5. Michigan Wolverines: In 2024, Jacob Howard plans to resume his recruiting-heavy ways from three cycles ago. In Khani Rooths, a top-30 recruit, he paired two other Top-150 guards. Things in Ann Arbour appear to be improving, though it was unclear where they would go after this offseason.
6. Illinois Fighting Illini: The class from Illinois has the potential tobe comfy to sleep on. In More Johnson, they have a top-40 recruit and two three-star commits. Johnson is among the best defenders in the class, and the Fighting Illini, who are still a threat in the portal, have two intriguing three-star prospects who could surprise everyone by becoming impact recruits.
7. Iowa Hawkeyes: Cooper Koch and Chris Tadjo are the two men in Fran McCaffery’s class. Tadjo is a run-and-jump four-man who can defend, rebound, and run the floor, while Koch is one of the best shooters in the nation. Despite being forwards, their brands couldn’t be more different.
8. Penn State Nittany Lions: In his first recruiting class as head coach of the Nittany Lions, Mike Rhoades has an intriguing class coming into Penn State. With Miles Goodman, Josh Vincott, and Dominick Stewart in his three-man class, he has a mix of shooting, scoring, and upside available to him.
9. Ohio State Buckeyes: Over the past three seasons, the Buckeyes have been among the top recruiters, but with the players they’re keeping, they didn’tmust expand even more in 2024. With talented and adaptable wing Colin White and possibly the best shooter in all of high school, Juni Mobley, they still have a strong two-man class.
10. Wisconsin Badgers: Without a doubt, Wisconsin is the Big Ten’s largest sleeper class thus far. They comprise the No. 49 overall class in the country with two recruits ranked in the top 150.Tough and talented, Jack Robison is a wing who can shoot, cut, rebound, and pass.Guard Daniel Freitag is a hard-charging player who hustles and creates for others. Both ought to be significant contributors to the Badgers.
11. Nebraska Cornhuskers: After Braden Frager changed his class from 2025 to 2024, Nebraska sneakily entered a two-man class with Nick Janowski. In their quest to return to the NCAA Tournament, the Cornhuskers should also expect to be active users of the portal.
12. Northwest Wildcats: Angelo Ciaravino and KJ Windham make up Chris Collins’ two-man class. Particularly impressive is Windham, who made a big splash at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam this summer.
13. Minnesota Golden Gophers: The Gophers have assembled a two-man class for 2024 because they are a struggling team that needs to succeed both on and off the court. Grayson Grove and top-150 guard Isaac Asuma were acquired. In an effort to improve things, they plan to add more to the portal.
14. Indiana: Liam McNeely is the only commit for the Hoosiers, but he was a big one. In the past two cycles, he is their second five-star recruit to commit, but they may not be finished as they aim to defeatout for Derek Queen in Kansas, Houston, and Maryland.
15. Washington Huskies: Mike Hopkins has only signed one three-star recruit, Casmir Davis, but we know that once the portal opens up, they will once more be aggressive.
16. UCLA Bruins: Mick Cronin has a knack for putting things together, and it’s expected that he will do so before the cycle ends in order to pair with four-star Eric Freeny. Don’t get used to seeing UCLA this low on the list. With his very young team, Cronin has been a particular threat on the international scene. One can’t help but wonder if he will look to the portal to get a little older.
