Injury update for Milan: Leao out, Pulisic and Loftus-Cheek OK
During the international break, Stefano Pioli is getting ready to begin working with his Milan team and assess the status of the injured players.
Although the Rossoneri enjoyed a strong start to the season, since the October international break, their play has deteriorated. They have only managed to gain two points from draws against Juventus and Udinese in their last four league games.
Milan is currently six points behind second-place Juventus and eight behind league leaders Inter in the championship chase. Pioli’s team must quickly begin gaining ground in order to stay ahead of their top competitors.
Calciomercato.com has reported that Pioli and his surviving Milan players will get together on Wednesday at Milanello to begin getting ready for their matchup with Fiorentina on November 25.
In addition to Rafael Leao, Isamel Bennacer, and Marco Sportiello being out due to injury, Olivier Giroud will be suspended.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek was left out of the Lecce draw, but this was only a precaution, and he should start against Fiorentina.
On November 25, Christian Pulisic and defender Simon Kjaer will both make their Milan comebacks. Davide Calabria, who was forced to withdraw from the Italy squad owing to a hamstring concern, might have it harder.
