Viewpoint: Texas quarterback Arch Manning won’t be leaving.
Rumours have been circulating recently regarding star quarterback Quinn Ewers’ decision to stay in Texas in 2024 instead of signing with an NFL team, and as a result, people outside the programme are starting to speculate that Arch Manning may be eligible to transfer.
Given that his family was aware that it would take time for Manning to develop when he committed to Texas, there is no rational explanation for him to use the portal. Archie Manning recently stated in an interview with Sports Illustrated that he is excited to play for the Longhorns.
Archie felt that following Eli Manning’s path in college would be the best way for Arch to succeed.
“I believe Eli took the best course of action. After serving as a backup in his second year and redshirting his first, he made his debut in his third year. It’s a big jump, in my opinion.
It now seems like the most likely course of action for Manning with Texas.
Ewers would be a valuable asset to the Longhorns as they prepare to play in the SEC for the first time the following season, with Manning backing him up.This offseason, Maalik Murphy is most likely to use the transfer portal.
