Cooper DeJean of Iowa football is out for the season due to yet another devastating injury.
Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz and Deacon Hill’s team just can’t seem to get a break after defeating Rutgers despite Cooper DeJean’s injury.
It took a crazy performance from the Iowa football secondary to wow Kirk Ferentz. They had only allowed the Rutgers football team to score zero points, giving them an eight-win record and two losses. Deacon Hill just needs to work on efficiency now that he’s settled into his groove. However, all of that could start to suffer in their upcoming games. This is due to the depressing news regarding Cooper DeJean’s injury.
According to Scott Dochterman of The Athletic, the Iowa football cornerback will be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season. Due to a lower leg injury, he will need to miss time with the Kirk Ferentz-led team. According to some rumours, he might be sidelined for at least six weeks, which would mean his output during bowl games would be missed.
Cooper DeJean led the Iowa football team with 41 total tackles. His two interceptions, seven pass breakups, and this will undoubtedly reduce their defensive output. Furthermore, he averages 11.47 returns per punt attempt when returning punts. Deacon Hill finds it much more difficult to outgun rival quarterbacks in the absence of this outstanding defensive player.
His departure from the Iowa football team extends the roster of players injured for the season. The quarterback Cade McNamara is out with an ACL injury, Erick All is also out due to the same injury, and Luke Lachey is recovering from an ankle problem.
Despite these absences, will they be able to continue winning after Rutgers’ dominance?
