Ohio’s Columbus (AP) — After two games in which he was the majority of the playing time, Ohio State coach Ryan Day announced that Kyle McCord will continue to start for the Buckeyes. This is the first time the coach has committed to the third-year player.

Following their competition to replace C.J. Stroud during the offseason between McCord and Devin Brown, Day has declined to declare a clear starter.

Day informed the media, “We have determined that Kyle will start.” “We’re going to draw that distinction now.”

For the sixth-ranked Buckeyes (2-0), McCord has thrown for 497 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

In his two games against Youngstown State and Indiana, Brown is 8 for 16.

“First of all, I believe Kyle feels more at ease knowing he is the starter,” Day remarked. “He deserved that chance.”

On Saturday, the Buckeyes play at home against Western Kentucky.
