Prior to Ohio State, Michigan football’s Sherrone Moore provided some encouraging updates despite the team’s injuries.
By the end of November, injuries are always a concern, and Michigan football hasn’t been exempt from injuries in recent weeks.
Last week, J.J. McCarthy didn’t appear fully recovered. Who knows how much that affected his performance versus Maryland, but it will be interesting to see on Saturday.
Roman Wilson, McCarthy’s top wide receiver, was knocked out of the game after only catching one pass for 22 yards against the Terrapins.
Wilson’s status for “The Game” raised some questions, but Sherrone Moore assured the media during their meeting that Wilson will be “good to go” for the game onthrough Wolverines Wire’s Isaiah Hole on Saturday
LaDarius Henderson and Myles Hinton are also anticipated to play in the Michigan football game against Ohio State, according to Moore. Wilson is not the only player expected to return.
For the majority of the season, Henderson has been the starting left tackle. Hinton filled in admirably until he left the game due to injury, but he was absent from the Maryland game.
Since Michigan football’s 24-15 victory over Penn State, when McCarthy attempted just eight passes, pass protection has been a question mark. It wasn’t ideal that both tackles would be hurt, so the Wolverines will need to have both of them available.
Wilson’s return is also vital. He was considered for the Fred Biletnikoff Award semifinals andis among the Big Ten’s best wide receivers. McCarthy and Wilson have a close bond as well, which has been evident throughout the 2023 campaign.
For all those guys, things are moving in the right direction. Additionally, no players are anticipated to be interviewed by the NCAA this week, which is good news for the Michigan football team as they try to build momentum in the days leading up to “The Game.”
