West Tigers rugby league player faces murder charges in relation to the unsolved case of a young man who was fatally stabbed in broad daylight.

A West Tigers NRL junior member is facing charges related to the death of Dejan “Danny the Serb” Radulovic.

Emerging On July 29, in the inner-west of Sydney, on Donnelly St. in Balmain, Masei Tavui, 19, is accused of stabbing and shooting Radulovic, 29.

At roughly 7.15 a.m. on Tuesday, police raided a house in Austral, in the southwest of the city, after a two-and-a-half month investigation.


Tavui was led out in handcuffs after they confiscated “clothing relevant to the investigation.”

After being brought to the Liverpool police station, he was accused of one murder.

In Liverpool Local Court on Tuesday afternoon, bail was refused for him.

An additional man has been accused of being a murder accessory. He is still in front of the courts.

Tavui participated in the under-19 competition last year as a back-rower for the Wests Tigers junior team, where he spent roughly four years.

He did not have a 2024 contract with the team.

Police claim he drove off in a white Jeep on the day of the alleged July murder.

On a nearby residential street in Five Dock, he is accused of abandoning the car and setting it on fire.

Despite Radulovic’s hasty arrival at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and his urgent surgery, the medical staff was unable to preserve his life.
