The Michigan Wolverines defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes in The Game to win the Big Ten East championship for the third consecutive year.
Michigan has only tripled up Ohio State twice in the last 26 years. The Wolverines shared the 1997 national championship the last time they experienced this level of success against their bitter rival.
With three more victories, the Wolverines will have achieved their goal of taking home the national championship.
It’s astounding to consider that in the midst of a sign-stealing scandal, Harbaugh managed to win both the Big Ten and the national championship with just six regular season games under his belt.
That he was able to accomplish this after having to part ways with Matt Weiss, Chris Patridge, Connor Stalions, and a co-offensive coordinator, all while watching his dependable lieutenant, Sherrone Moore, serve as head coach against two top-10 opponents, Ohio State and Penn State.
That he could endure all of this and still be flawless.
I would be curious to know which team, if any, wins a national championship if this one isn’t the Michigan squad.
