The meeting between Michigan and Ohio State is the biggest game of the college football regular season, particularly in a year like 2023 when both teams are ranked very close to the top of the College Football Playoff rankings.

Apparently, though, not everyone agrees that’s how things should be.

In addition to getting out of control, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh claims that the rivalry’s drama and appeal are “very manufactured.”

It appears like a lot of that was developed outside of the two programmes. It’s been overly hyped, but I won’t go so far as to call it contrived. The athletes are students. The players of this game are young adults and children. We only ask that they put on their best performance when they step onto the pitch. That, in my opinion, is highly produced for the television programme that viewers desire to see. However, it is unhealthy. I would say that trying to put so much pressure on someone to the point where they essentially believe it’s life or death is unhealthy for the student-athletes on either side.

In one regard, Harbaugh is correct: a football game should never be viewed as a life-or-death situation.

Nevertheless, it appears he needs to review the data given the viewership ratings, which made it the most watched college football game in more than ten years.

MINTER TAUNTING ON NOV 26 The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes are clearly still in love, and this was evident throughout Saturday’s “The Game” broadcast.

Emotions were running high after the game, as one might anticipate.

This was particularly the case for Jesse Minter, the defensive coordinator for Michigan, who was caught making fun of the Buckeyes as they left the pitch following the game.
