Over the past year or so, a few significant Toronto Raptors players have been mentioned in the realm of NBA trade rumors. The two most talked-about names are forwards Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby; as the trade deadline approaches, there’s a good chance that their conversation will intensify even further. Before the NBA trade deadline in 2022–2023 and even during the previous offseason, both players were connected to a number of teams.

By this season’s trade deadline, the Raptors will have formally decided on Siakam, Anunoby, and a host of other players, if Shams Charania of The Athletic is right. Talking about the belief that Raptors president Masai Ujiri will decide on the plan close to the trade deadline, Charania mentioned it on FanDuel’s “Run It Back” program. According to the NBA insider, Scottie Barnes, a 22-year-old forward, is “the untouchable” and will not be involved in any trade negotiations.

Now sitting with just a 9-10 record for the season, the Raptors are in an interesting situation. Whenever they seem to be closing in on a run of convincing victories, they end up back in the losing column. Ujiri is making a lot of difficult decisions leading up to the trade deadline, which is scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2024.
