That objective is very much within reach as the Hawkeyes prepare to play Tennessee in the Citrus Bowl.
Naturally, he’s benefited from an offensive team that has a poor track record. Week after week, Iowa games have, in terms of the point total, set all-time lows at the bookmakers throughout the year.
Furthermore, the Hawkeyes are consistently hitting the UNDER in those games even while those totals are declining.
The situation has become so terrible that Vegas has dared gamblers to support the Black and Gold against Michigan in the Big Ten Championship game, putting Iowa’s team total under a point in both the first and second halves.
If Tory Taylor gets even one chance to punt in the Citrus Bowl, he has the potential to shatter the NCAA record for yards. Johnny Pingel of Michigan State set a record in 1938 when he booted four hundred and eighty-seven yards in punt returns—still the most in a single season in college football history.
Tory Taylor has the ability to break the NCAA record for yards punting if he is given even one opportunity to do it in the Citrus Bowl.
