Mario Cristobal is constantly hiring, but this is the busiest month of the year for him on the trail. December 20th, National Signing Day, is in less than two weeks!
According to 247 Sports, Miami currently has 27 verbal commits and has the fifth-best Class of 2024. After acquiring Ohio State’s 5-Star defensive tackle Justin Scott, the Hurricanes are now riding high.
Liam Willerup and I talked about potential candidates to be the next Canes verbal commit on a new Locked On Canes.
Some names to think about are:
-Jordan Lyle, an Ohio State commit and 4-star running back for St. Thomas Aquinas.
– Zavier Mincey, a 4-star cornerback for Daytona Beach on the mainland (uncommitted).
The Florida State commit Armondo Blount, a 5-Star defensive lineman for Miami Central.
-North Carolina State commit Cedrick “CJ” Bailey, a 3-star quarterback from Chaminade-Madonna.
– Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith, a 5-star wide receiver from Chaminade-Madonna.Take note: Miami has an uphill climb ahead of it. While Florida State is vying with Miami for a potential flip, OSU is exerting all of its might to hold onto the top recruit. The Hurricanes are still making every effort in this situation.
Liam and I talked about transfer portal quarterbacks on the podcast as well. Cam Ward, a transfer from Washington State, is the main player the Hurricanes are actively pursuing.
Who is your next top choice if Miami is unable to defeat numerous other contenders for Ward, such as Ohio State, USC, and FSU?
I like Will Howard, the Kansas State transfer. Liam enjoys Dequan Finn, a transfer from Toledo.
