Florida secured the preferred walk-on commitment of Vero Beach (Fla.) High 2024 interior offensive lineman Chase Stevens on Tuesday night, he announced.

“First and foremost I wanna thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you to my parents [for] all that they have done for me in my life and this journey,” Chase wrote on his commitment via social media.

“After long thought and consideration, I have decided to take a PWO opportunity to the one school that I have always truly wanted to play for. GO GATORS!!”

The 6-foot-4, 293-pound Stevens pledged to the Gators over reported scholarship offers from Austin Peay, Bethune-Cookman and Rhode Island.

Stevens possesses at least two seasons of starting experience with Vero Beach as an interior lineman, having aligned at center and both left and right guard in games. Additionally, Stevens has participated in discus throw and shot put for his high school’s track and field team.

Highlights from Stevens’ junior and senior season performances can be observed here.

Stevens is also the second PWO offensive lineman to team up with the Gators in the 2024 recruiting cycle, following Tallahassee (Fla.) Florida State University School offensive tackle Mark Faircloth’s November pledge.

He’s Florida’s sixth overall offensive line commitment, with tackle Fletcher Westphal of Leesburg (Va.) Tuscarora, tackle Marcus Mascoll of Leesburg (Va.) Tuscarora, tackle Mike Williams of Upper Marlboro (Md.) Charles Herbert Flowers and guard Noel Portnjagin of Schwäbisch Hall (Germany) occupying scholarship spots.
