Celtics Add to Their Injury Report Ahead of Rematch With Cavaliers

Celtics Evaluate a Key to Mini-Series Sweep of Cavaliers: 'Playing the Right Way' - Sports Illustrated Boston Celtics News, Analysis and More

Jaylen Brown’s ankle sprain was already deemed questionable by the Celtics on Wednesday.

For the second leg of their two-game miniseries against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Boston Celtics have added another noteworthy name to their list of injuries.

After tripping and hurtling under the basket in the opening game, Jaylen Brown was carted off with an ankle sprain. After the shoot-around on Thursday morning, Kristaps Porzingis’ calf flared up once more, forcing him to miss a week of action for Boston and adding his name to the injury report.

The center for the Celtics most likely has tightness in his left calf. This will be Porzingis’ third game back from his Black Friday calf injury, assuming there isn’t another downgrade to his status. Porzingis was hurt against the Orlando Magic on Friday.

Evan Mobley is once again listed as out for the Cavaliers, so Porzingis might play a big game against Cleveland. He has played the Cavaliers three times in a row, averaging 19.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
