The Dallas Cowboys Have an Underrated Offensive Gadget

The Dallas Cowboys have produced a number of offensive MVPs that are being considered as the NFL 2023 season comes to an end. This year, CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, and the unexpected rookie kicker Brandon Aubrey are putting up impressive performances. There’s a lot to be happy about as the holidays approach, particularly the prospect of making the playoffs. One name, though, is starting to stand out as a special player for Dallas.

Rico Dowdle has been as effective since securing a starting position at wide receiver as the Cowboys have been with Ezekiel Elliott. Naturally, the team needed to find a replacement running back after Elliott was cut. The Cowboys did not want to put all of the workload on Tony Pollard, despite the fact that he is the starter. In the red zone, dodder is employed more frequently than pollard, and it has proven effective.

Whether Dallas is making the most of both of these running backs is a matter of debate. Even so, the offense—which employs a one-two punch in line with Elliott and Pollard’s workload—is still beneficial to the team. The offense is different, though, as the team is depending more on the passing game with a “West Coast” system.

Nevertheless, Dowdle is the ideal choice for punching in when they’re in the end zone. Pollard is supposed to take the long balls and produce big plays, but Dowdle can add the cherry on top. Though it took a while for the run game to open, there is now hope for the future.
