The Tennessee Vols ended the weekend with some positive news.

Sierra (JuCo) defensive lineman Jamal Wallace announced his commitment to Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.

Wallace made the announcement after a weekend visit to Knoxville.

Wallace, 6-foot-2/302 lbs from Kansas City, MO, will be part of the Vols’ 2024 recruiting class.

Tennessee’s latest commit grew up calling UT his dream school in part because of former Vols/Chiefs defensive back Eric Berry and former Vols defensive back Inky Johnson.

Houston, Utah State, North Texas, and USF were also in the mix for Wallace.

Wallace told 247Sports in October that Tennessee views him as a “twitchy” player that could potentially play opposite James Pearce on the Vols’ defensive line. Wallace also told 247Sports that he heard from Georgia and LSU earlier this fall (but didn’t receive offers).

Tennessee currently has 20 commits to its 2024 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 13 in the nation.
