Steelers Might Pass on Bengals Wide Receiver Ja’Marr Chase

This week, the Pittsburgh Steelers will keep an eye on a significant injury.

Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Steelers may decide to forego star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase in order to increase their chances of making the playoffs. The team will need to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals handily in Week 16.

The Bengals wide receiver is scheduled to have an MRI on his injured shoulder, and the team is ready for him to miss time as a result, according to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer.

The shoulder injury that Chase sustained happened during the Bengals’ overtime victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Several high-profile injuries befell Cincinnati going into Week 15, chief among them defensive tackle D.J. Reader, who will miss the remainder of the campaign due to a groin injury.

Joe Burrow has missed a significant portion of the season due to injuries, but Chase has still managed to record a career-high 93 receptions for 1,156 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Bengals, who currently hold the sixth seed, are one full game ahead of the Steelers, who are currently looking in on the AFC playoff picture from the outside. In Week 12, Pittsburgh emerged victorious from their previous road game.
