Report: Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase expected to miss upcoming game against Steelers
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals is anticipated to miss the team’s next road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday afternoon. At 8-6, the Bengals are still very much in the running for the AFC playoffs.
Due to a sprained AC joint, Chase had an MRI on Monday. The results indicate that he may miss a significant amount of time in addition to not being expected to play in Week 16. On Sunday, head coach Zac Taylor stated that he was “day-to-day.”
Chase was unable to complete the game on Saturday due to a shoulder injury sustained against the Minnesota Vikings. This season, the former No. 5 overall pick has 93 receptions for 1,156 yards. This is his third season in a row with more than 1,000 receiving yards.
On Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Paycor Stadium, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase (1) of the Cincinnati Bengals leaves the field after his team defeats the Minnesota Vikings 27-24 in overtime.
Without Chase, the Bengals will need to rely a lot on wide receivers Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, just like they did in the closing seconds to defeat the Vikings. Because of this, even with one of their three elite wide receivers out of the lineup, the Bengals still have a real chance to win every game.
“We’ve always known that you need weapons to succeed in this league, so again, it’s not going to be perfect,” Taylor remarked.
