Eddie Howe is under pressure after Newcastle’s defeat. Is there, though? Furthermore, how unlikable is this Toon version?

Eddie Howe’s bag? Really?
I searched for “Eddie Howe sacked” on Google after reading another one of your articles mentioning rumors that he was fired. Two F365 pieces and Fabrizio Romano’s statement that he won’t be fired ranked as the top three hits.

You guys, Lewis Oldham in particular, seem to be begging for him to be fired. It appears to be brought up each time you write about Newcastle.

And you’re itching for Mourinho to take over, even though he would only have Steve Bruce’s level of popularity.

Caicedo ought to have been dismissed.
This match should have actually ended with Caicedo being sent off three minutes in. The ball was well out of reach and clearly intended to cause injury, but not even the least attempt was made to catch it. Well, rules are rules, referees have discretion, and there’s no VAR. Wailing is pointless [cough]. Additionally, I believed Guimaraes could have left early as well.

The Geordie crowd was far more audible on the terrible ESPN audio broadcast, whereas the home fans seemed to only be making a whisper. Or perhaps the acoustics and the crowd at Stamford Bridge truly are that particular combination. I don’t know; I’ve never gone. Perhaps NBC is simply receiving better feeds for the NFL. After around twenty minutes, my son, who arrived at halftime, commented that it was the quietest soccer match he had ever heard. The Geordies were still singing, “Heeey, Callum Wilson, I wanna know-ow-ow.”

The headed clearing by Livramento in the 88th minute—ouch. However, it could have been a stroke of genius, flying well wide of the net and beyond Mudryk’s reach—frightening and incredible. Trippier must have lost confidence after making yet another defensive blunder. I was virtually certain that he would miss when penalties were called. I knew he would step up. Nevertheless, it was definitely a good idea to substitute him in at the half because Krafth was still having issues with Raheem Sterling, even with Almiron’s assistance.

Livramento’s headed clearing in the 88th minute hurt. It might have been a terrifying and amazing move, though, flying way beyond Mudryk’s reach and past the net. Trippier had to have lost faith in himself after committing yet another defensive error. I was pretty sure he was going to miss when the penalties were called. He would step up, I knew. But even with Almiron’s help, Krafth was still having problems with Raheem Sterling, so it was a smart move to bring him on at the break.

..Towards the end of the first half between Chelsea and Newcastle, it occurred to me that I much like the way the game flowed without continual VAR interference. However, Chelsea ought to be really appreciative that it’s not present, as they finish this half with nine players. A disgrace to Colwill and Caicedo for their “tackles.”

This Newcastle team is made up of a lot of
Satisfied with our pen victory? Yes. Happy that we scored in about 90 minutes? Yes. Are you sick and weary of controlling possession but still making careless errors that result in goals? Yes, that’s right.

However, let’s discuss media and hyperbole, referees, and Newcastle. Sincerely, why not?

No team gets away with it quite like Newcastle, as far as I can recall. It appears that the equalizer was scored during the four—yes, FOUR—minutes of additional time. Dubravka was a continual waste of time during the game, keeping the ball for fifteen seconds on several occasions (I thought the rule said keepers could only retain the ball for seven seconds?). Before, there was…), absent the yellow. No penalty.

With seemingly free kicks awarded to everyone who dares to breathe on their players, Newcastle must also be the team in the league with the highest number of fouls committed this season. How come one side fouled 35% more than the other in 90 minutes but only having 20% of the possession? It is illogical.

I’ve seen a real piece about how Caicedo ought to have been dismissed, but it says nothing about Bruno Guimaraes’ attack on Maatsen in the 95th minute.(Why is Bruno the most incredibly unlikable player of all time? What significance does a name have?

Although I detest diving, Chelsea players receive yellow cards for it, yet Newcastle players who dive and roll around for a full minute are OK!
There has been discussion about Newcastle’s injury problems, but not about Chelsea’s.

Callum Wilson decides to celebrate his goal and penalty with complete arrogance (amazing finish with the outside of his boot tonight though) and Bruno G (I’ve spoken enough about him) does the same – fingers in his ears at his own fans – after a pen in a shootout he then loses. Wilson uses a podcast to disparage other professionals and spends 20 minutes out of 90 whining and moaning.
