The retired Tennessee Titans tight end died on Saturday, Dec. 9 following a fall at his Tennessee home, his family confirmed
Frank Wycheck, a former NFL tight end, passed away. 52 was his age.
On December 9, the former Tennessee Titans player is said to have fallen and struck his head at his Chattanooga, Tennessee, home. In a statement published on the team’s official website on Sunday, his family confirmed the news.
As of right now, it seems Wycheck suffered a head injury on Saturday morning after falling inside his Chattanooga, Tennessee, house. The statement stated that “that afternoon, he was found to be nonresponsive.”
Wycheck’s family disclosed their intention to cooperate with “experts for on-going brain injury (TBI) and CTE research” in order to fulfill his desires. The family requested “privacy during this difficult time” after thanking the public for their support.
The renowned tight end ended his football career in 2003 after playing 11 seasons in the NFL.
After playing football for two seasons in Washington, he signed with the Houston Oilers in 1995. The Houston Oilers would later change their name to the Tennessee Titans.
