“Next Man Up!”: Blake Cashman and Will Anderson Jr. are out against the Browns.

The Houston Texans will attempt to hold onto their postseason dreams against the Cleveland Browns, even though they will be playing without rookie stars Will Anderson Jr. and C.J. Stroud for the second straight week.

Houston — When the Houston Texans play the Cleveland Browns in Week 16 on Sunday afternoon at NRG Stadium, they will again be shorthanded.

After being hit by New York Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams on December 10, rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud is still in the concussion protocol, so the Texans will miss his second game.

But Stroud isn’t the only Texan who won’t be available when the Browns play. Defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and linebacker Blake Cashman, who suffered their injuries against the Jets, have been officially ruled out of the Texans lineup for the second straight week.

At MetLife Stadium, Anderson was carted off with an ankle injury, and Cashman left the game in the first quarter with a strained hamstring.

The AFC postseason race will be greatly impacted by the outcome of Sunday’s game, but head coach DeMeco Ryans isn’t concerned about the number of players who will be sitting out against the Browns.
