The Pittsburgh Steelers dominated the Cincinnati Bengals on both sides of the ball, resulting in an embarrassing loss for the team. The Bengals have experienced a rollercoaster of a season; despite losing their starting quarterback for the whole campaign, they are 8-7 overall.
Nevertheless, these Bengals haven’t performed up to par for the team, and if Santa were to deliver them gifts, it seems like they would get coal in their stockings. On Christmas Day, Bengals fans may want to refrain from opening their stockings.

Irv Smith Jr.
Nevertheless, these Bengals haven’t performed up to par for the team, and if Santa were to deliver them gifts, it seems like they would get coal in their stockings. On Christmas Day, Bengals fans may want to refrain from opening their stockings.
Smith’s performance on the field has been lackluster; in 12 games, he has only 18 receptions for 115 yards and one touchdown. That is hardly the output of a top tight end, and it is understandable that Smith is behind Tanner Hudson and Drew Sample in the depth chart.
A risky move like signing Smith always has a chance to work out, but occasionally, like this time, it backfires on the team. Luckily, Smith’s contract was only for one year, so this offseason, he will be leaving.
Nick Scott
To their credit, the Bengals made an effort to salvage something during the offseason after losing both of their starting safeties. It was widely anticipated that Dax Hill would replace Jessie Bates in the starting lineup, but the Bengals had to scramble to find a replacement after Vonn Bell left. Nick Scott was chosen because he had a decent playing career with the Rams.
Scott hasn’t worked out, which is unfortunate for Cincinnati. Jordan Battle, a third-round rookie who was far superior to the former Ram, ultimately took his starting job. Scott’s coverage grade is 33.4 and his overall PFF score is 39.8. Just in case you were wondering, that is really bad.
PFF also stated that Scott had given up 20 receptions off of 27 targets. The Bengals may have given him coal for Christmas this year because he simply didn’t turn out to be the player they had hoped he would be when they brought him in.
