An insider predicts that in 2024, the Raiders will trade a star player in a blockbuster deal.

Eagles, Raiders Predicted to Pull Off Blockbuster Draft Trade

The head coach and general manager of the Las Vegas Raiders will be replaced from when they entered the 2023 season, and the team is expected to miss the playoffs for the second consecutive year. Davante Adams, a wide receiver, will turn 31 at the start of the following season, so it wouldn’t make sense for him to stay for a rebuild.

When asked which star player he thinks the Raiders will trade before the 2024 offseason, ESPN’s Dan Graziano said he expects them to make a deal.

In a column published on December 20, Graziano stated, “Davante Adams is the obvious one to me.” In the unlikely event that the interim players hold onto their positions, the Raiders will have a new general manager and coach from the ones they had when they signed Adams to a long-term deal. Playing with quarterback Derek Carr, who is no longer there, was one of the main reasons the star receiver traveled there.

Adams has been a good soldier and hasn’t asked for a trade, but I believe there’s a good chance he’ll reach the offseason and decide it’s time to move on, either with the team or on his own. Regardless of where he ends up—in New Orleans with Carr, New York with longtime friend Aaron Rodgers, or some other place entirely—the team that acquires him must guarantee him $16.89 million for the upcoming season, and the Raiders will bear a $23 million dead money cap hit.

Before the trade deadline, the Raiders made the decision not to trade Adams, but Dave Ziegler was still the general manager at the time. Champ Kelly, the team’s interim general manager, was the assistant general manager when the wide receiver was acquired. It is unclear what his plans for the team would be if he were to take over as full-time general manager this offseason.
