“49ers Talk” hosts Matt Maiocco and Jennifer Lee Chan talk about how the team is being affected as the 49ers’ injuries keep mounting, most notably Trent Williams’ groin injury sustained during the team’s Week 16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
In the 49ers’ loss to the Ravens last night, quarterback Sam Darnold had to play through an aggravating stinger injury that he first sustained against the Cardinals in Week 15.
However, Purdy stated following the contest that he anticipates being OK for the Week 17 matchup with Washington, and head coach Kyle Shanahan reaffirmed the same point on Tuesday.
According to David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com, Shanahan stated, “Just watching him, how he was that week [after the Cardinals game], and then just being able to hear how he was today and talk to him last night after the game, I think he’s going to be fine.” It won’t bother him all that much, in my opinion.
“I don’t want to draw attention to myself. Although I’m sure it’s difficult for him, I believe he will be OK for us this week overall.
Purdy’s career-worst 42.6 passer rating was achieved by completing 18 of 32 passes for 255 yards, no touchdowns, and four interceptions.
Darnold finished the game 8-of-14 for 81 yards with a touchdown and a pick in his longest playing time of the year.
