Football recruiting at Clemson: How do the Tigers fare in the Class of 2025?

The customary February period remains open for college football recruits to sign their National Letters of Intent; however, Clemson Football has now closed their Class of 2024 with 22 prospects, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Now is the moment for recruiters to take a closer look at the Class of 2025, who recently completed their junior years of high school. In an attempt to secure a few more commitments, Clemson will start hosting some of their targets on campus in January after the bowl game.

Convincing their primary targets to accept official visits on the first weekend of June is the ultimate aim of their unofficial visits in January.

According to 247Sports, the Tigers are currently ranked sixth in the class of 2025. As of right now, they have seven verbal promises. I predict Clemson will enroll a class that is roughly the same size as it did this season—22 players, give or take—based on players who we know will use up their eligibility after the next season and the unavoidable transfers out of the program.

One factor influencing this is the departure of COVID-19 players: after 2024, the majority of players who participated in 2020 will have moved on, with very few exceptions. Most teams will find that their 2025 classes are a little bit fuller than in previous years, as far fewer players will be able to play a fifth or sixth season.
