In 2024, the former head coach of the Vikings plans to rejoin the NFL.

It’s never easy to become a head coach in the National Football League. Keeping that job for a long time might be even more difficult.

However, Mike Zimmer, the former head coach of the Vikings, accomplished just that by holding down the number one spot in Minnesota for eight consecutive seasons. Zimmer’s Vikings enjoyed great success during that time, finishing 72-56-1 in the regular season and qualifying for three postseasons, including the 2017 campaign that saw them advance to the NFC Championship Game.

It appears that Zimmer is looking to return to the NFL in 2024, nearly two years after he was fired as the Vikings head coach after the 2021 season.

Usually a man of few words, Zimmer has maintained a very low profile ever since taking over as head coach of the Vikings. But he recently opened up in an NFL Network interview with Tom Pelissero, discussing his life since Minnesota fired him and his future as an NFL coach.

It seems that Zimmer has kept himself occupied by setting up an office on his Kentucky property where he watches film and keeps abreast of trends and schemes in the NFL. “I go over there and built a little office building.” Just stay on top of the game; I watch tape, study analytics, and do all of the other things you kind of do.
