Head coach of the Arizona Cardinals Jonathan Gannon led his team against the Browns in Week 9 of the season after returning to his hometown of Cleveland.

This week, Gannon will return to Philadelphia, where he served as the Eagles’ defensive coordinator for two seasons. It is also the location of his greatest coaching achievement, as he led the Eagles’ defense to Super Bowl 57 the previous season.

He played down returning to the City of Brotherly Love, just as Gannon had played down his return to Cleveland. He expressed excitement about meeting Eagles general manager and executive vice president Howie Roseman.

“The following scheduled game. An excellent football team. Like any other week, it will be nice to see Nick, the coaches, and Howie there, Gannon remarked. “It’s competition, competition, competition when the whistle blows.”

Sirianni is still a confidant and friend. Gannon claimed to have kept in touch with him during the season.

He’s a constant source of help to me. It’s the Eagles against the Cardinals, of course, and we’re very close,” Gannon remarked.

Although, as of Christmas Day, Gannon knew that the Eagles are 11-4 and in the running for the NFC’s top playoff seed, he admitted that he hasn’t been particularly aware of the team’s performance this season.
