Luke Brooks in heartbreaking new Wests Tigers fallout following vicious club swipe.

Luke Brooks, a longtime playmaker for the Wests Tigers, looks unlikely to say goodbye quietly as an injury kept him out of his final NRL home game. After 11 years at the joint venture club, Brooks would have wanted to end his career there with a victory over the Dolphins in Saturday’s season finale at home.

Sadly, the 28-year-old may have already played his final game for the team because of a calf injury that has forced him out of the game. Benji Marshall, Brooks’ assistant coach and future head coach in 2024, declared on Friday that Brooks would not play against the Dolphins.

The game on Saturday at CommBank Stadium was Brooks’ final chance to play in front of his home crowd in 2023. The playmaker’s availability for his team’s upcoming away games against the Roosters and Manly is now in doubt, so Brooks may not get to say goodbye to his boyhood team before joining the Sea Eagles the following season.

Marshall stated on Friday, “Unfortunately, he’s not going to be playing because of his injury.” “We want to send him off the right way because he’s played 200 games and he’s given his heart and soul and showed a lot of loyalty to us.”
