Though they are out of the playoff picture, the New York Giants will still provide some difficulties for the Los Angeles Rams as they get ready to play them on Sunday.
This week, Sean McVay, the head coach of the Rams, talked about Wink Martindale’s Giants defense and praised his scheme, saying it has caused chaos in the NFL for a number of seasons.
McVay remarked, “I’ve always had a lot of respect for Wink.” He is a master at allocating his players. You can see that he can change and adapt to what he believes they do best, and he knows some of the problems he may cause. Nevertheless, he puts a lot of pressure on you in some situations.”
The Giants defense’s capacity to force turnovers is one such weakness that it may exploit against other teams. The Rams offense has played a major role in their recent comeback, but if they don’t take care of the ball, Sunday’s game might end up being a little more nerve-racking than it would have been otherwise.
“They’re a real challenge to be able to prepare for, and they’ve got really good players,” McVay stated. “It’s clear why they’re taking the football away during some of their periods of outstanding football play; doing so results in victories, and they’re incredibly opportunistic. Their people deserve a lot of credit for that, plus Wink.
The 8-7 Rams, who are 4.5-point favorites over the 5-10 Giants, will be vying for a postseason berth on Sunday in New Jersey. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. PT on FOX.
