It’s a rematch of the AFC Championship Game in the regular season, however with different circumstances than many had predicted before the season began.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who are currently 9-6 through 15 games and are still in the hunt for a division title, have had an extremely disappointing season because of their offensive difficulties. But because of their championship history, Patrick Mahomes and company are still dangerous even after a patchy season. Conversely, Zac Taylor’s 8-7 Cincinnati Bengals are managing to survive without franchise quarterback Joe Burrow, but they still require some assistance to make it to the postseason.

Although there are still a lot of postseason implications for Week 17’s game, neither team has lived up to the promise in 2023. Having said that, there has been a lot of fuel poured to the fire this week, and the ongoing rivalry is still very much alive. Kansas City can secure another AFC West title with a victory at home, while a road victory can increase Cincinnati’s chances of making the playoffs to 58%.
