When the Leafs play the Senators, Auston Matthews’ run completes a full circle.

December 26 – The Ottawa Senators, who were the last team to stop Auston Matthews from scoring, will attempt to repeat the feat on Wednesday night when they play the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Dec. 7 at Ottawa, the prolific Matthews had one shot on goal and no points, but the Maple Leafs prevailed 4-3.

Since then, Matthews has scored in seven straight games—a career-high—for a total of 12 goals. Saturday’s 4-1 road victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets featured two goals and one assist from Matthews.
