The Minnesota Timberwolves may have a case for making the argument that they have one of the best potential young core’s in the league with Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid all committed to the organization for the long-haul. However, it is the previously mentioned Edwards, better known as Ant-Man, who has presumably unspooled Karl-Anthony Towns’ position as the franchise’s future face. The 22-year-old is receiving a lot of positive attention from NBA writers, including Mark Medina, who feels that he has already proven on the court that he is the “number one guy” who “relishes” any challenge against any opponent that is put in front of him.

With small forward Jaden McDaniels signed a five-year, $136 million rookie-scale extension after his breakout season the previous year, when he established himself as one of the NBA’s best defenders and contributed 12.1 points on 51.7 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from three-point range, the Timberwolves may have one of the strongest young cores in the league. They also decided to re-sign backup big man Naz Reid to a three-year, $42 million contract following several outstanding performances in the previous campaign. Having played an average of about 20 minutes per game thus far, the undrafted center out of LSU is currently leading the entire league with his 95.3 defensive rating.
