Giants’ top three players according to PFF heading into 2023.
The top three players for the New York Giants heading into the 2023 NFL season have been identified by Pro Football Focus.
Dexter Lawrence, Andrew Thomas, and Saquon Barkley were on the list. Since they were the team’s core in 2022, Giants fans generally agree that this group of players should be at the top of the roster.
The Giants have three highly skilled young players on this list. In 2022, Lawrence achieved an overall grade of 91.6, placing him in truly elite territory. With an 89.3 pass-blocking grade and a 90.1 overall grade, Thomas made a comparable transition into elite play. In addition to recording his best rushing grade of 82.2 of his career, Barkley recorded a career-high 36 explosive runs of 10 yards or more.
Lawrence had a breakout season in 2022, earning a PFF ranking of No. 2 interior defender. The former Clemson first-round selection led the Giants in run defense and pass rush with 35 solo tackles, 7.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. He was selected to the Second Team All-Pro team.
