Jim Harbaugh of Michigan Would Probably Accept an NFL Offer, According to an Insider.

Despite the Wolverines’ success, Jim Harbaugh’s interest in the NFL has been a recurring plot point during the coach’s time at Michigan. Regardless of the outcome of the game, Harbaugh may depart Michigan for the NFL as the team gets ready to play in the College Football Playoff national championship.

When Adam Schefter of ESPN visited the Pat McAfee Show to talk about Harbaugh, the insider detailed the requirements for Harbaugh to return to the NFL.

He hasn’t yet agreed to a contract extension with Michigan. Don Yee, an agent he has hired, has extensive NFL ties. One more win and Michigan will have a national championship, according to Schefter. “I think the NFL will have a say in dictating whether or not he leaves. My impression is that he would definitely be open to hearing about and considering an offer from an NFL team if they truly wanted him and made a strong enough pitch.

Several teams, including the Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers, and Las Vegas Raiders, who are all looking for a new head coach, may be interested in trying to sign Harbaugh this offseason. Though Harbaugh ultimately decided to return to Michigan, he has previously stated interest in playing in the NFL.

While he doesn’t believe Harbaugh’s departure is a “foregone conclusion,” Schefter went on to say that the right offer would probably be compelling enough to convince him to jump again.

Schefter stated, “It has to be the right opportunity with the right offer.” “I believe he ends up leaving if that happens, if everything falls into place.”
