NHL Buzz: Pacioretty will start for the Capitals this season against the Devils
On Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET on MAX, MSGSN, TNT, TVAS, the Capitals will host the New Jersey Devils, marking Max Pacioretty’s season and team debut. Since rupturing his right Achilles tendon for the second time on January 19, 2023, while playing for the Carolina Hurricanes against the Minnesota Wild, the 35-year-old left wing has not participated in any games.
According to O’Connell, “Nick has been very effective moving the team,” as of Wednesday. “When he’s been in there, our offense has been extremely explosive. Nick is aware that holding onto the football and not throwing it away is the one thing we need to concentrate on.”
Detroit starters will be drawn for Mullens. Coach Dan Campbell stated earlier this week that the Lions (11-5) will not be resting starters when they play the Vikings at home because they have a slim chance of earning the NFC’s No. 2 seed.
In the meantime, in order for the Vikings (7-9) to win in Week 18, the following must occur:
Cardinals triumph over Seahawks;
Bears defeat the Packers;
— Falcons defeat Saints or Panthers defeat Buccaneers
After Cousins was injured, Joshua Dobbs started and went 2-2, throwing five touchdowns and five interceptions in five games.
