Mike Vrabel of the Titans says he wants to return for the upcoming season.
Tennessee’s Nashville On Wednesday, Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel began by expressing regret for his use of a profanity in his description of how it felt to lose 18 out of 23 games the day before.
In closing, Vrabel made it abundantly evident that he would not be leaving after this season.
Vrabel declared, “I want to be here, of course.” “Stay here for as long as we can win and accomplish this goal; it’s been amazing. However, it has only occurred this year. And no one desires to be in our situation.
Even with two straight losing seasons, the 2021 AP NFL Coach of the Year still has a 55-48 overall record. Because of this, other markets have been speculating about Vrabel’s future, with some hoping for a new coach even though he extended his contract after the 2021 campaign.
With his current squad, Vrabel has been a coach for the ninth longest in the NFL. During his first five seasons with this team, no one has won more games than him. Out of the six coaches hired in 2018, only he remains with his current team.
He has led the Titans to three postseason appearances, two AFC South championships, a No. 1 seed, and an AFC championship game. Due to injuries, they were unable to participate in the playoffs in either of the two previous seasons—the 2018 and 2022 ones. His starting quarterback missed those games.
With their third consecutive loss heading into Sunday’s season finale, the Titans (5-11) have been eliminated from the playoffs on December 17.
All that’s at stake in this game is trying to snap that and sabotage division rival Jacksonville’s bid to win back-to-back AFC South titles.
