As a linebacker for the Rams in the 1970s, Isiah Robertson was selected to the All-Pro team four times. He passed away in an automobile accident in Texas on Thursday night at the age of 69, according to an NFL.com story.

Robertson, often known as “Butch,” was selected by the Rams with the 10th overall pick in the 1971 NFL Draft. He established himself as a starting linebacker right away and won the defensive rookie of the year award.

On October 30, 1977, in New Orleans, Rams linebacker Isiah Robertson (58) and the majority of the Rams defense have the referees cornered, arguing that the Saints’ faked field goal that led to a touchdown throw from holder Tom Blanchard to defensive end Elois Grooms was not allowed. Not, the officials declared, and the score was recorded. (AP Image)

Robertson played four more seasons with the Buffalo Bills after being moved from the Rams to Buffalo in 1978.
