Consequently, what happened? In just their fifth MLS match, St. Louis defeated Real Salt Lake 4-0 to improve to a five-game winning streak for the season. Only three clubs have accomplished the feat—LA Galaxy in 1996 and Sporting KC in 2012—behind this one. Bradley Carnell, the head coach, showered his players with praise for their ability to overcome any skepticism thus far in the season.

WHAT THEY SAID: According to MLSSoccer.com, forward Nicholas Gioacchini stated that the players will remember the run for a very long time, and forward Carnell praised his team as “magnificent!” following the game.

It’s enduring. I believe that every player will carry this memory for the rest of their lives,” he remarked. “Five victories from an expansion team hasn’t happened yet. Even five straight victories in a league for established teams. As previous seasons have shown, it’s not easy.”
