Following Lakers’ 23 fourth-quarter free throws, the coach of the Raptors invokes conspiracy theory to criticize the referees.

It’s likely that the NBA will contact Toronto Raptors coach Darko Rajaković regarding a possible fine.

That’s because after Toronto’s 132-131 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night, where Los Angeles made 23 free throws in the fourth quarter while the Raptors only made two, Rajaković criticized the officiating.

It’s absurd. What transpired tonight is wholly untrue. Rajaković started. “It’s shameful. Disgrace to the umpires. It’s a shame the league let this happen. They get 23 free throws, and we only get two in the fourth quarter? For example, how do I play the game? I know you have to show respect for all-stars and everything, but our team also has stars.

Rajaković continued after that. In a message to the league, he requested that they inform the Raptors if they require their opponent to triumph on a given night. They can simply not “show up” in this manner.

“They had to prevail this evening,” Rajaković persisted in his tirade. Please inform us if that is the case so that we can avoid attending the game. Simply grant them victory. But tonight, that was unfair. We are not experiencing this for the first time.

Despite playing aggressively and getting to the basket, Rajaković was especially incensed at the lack of foul calls for his young star Scottie Barnes, who only attempted two free throws during the entire game.

Commissioner Adam Silver will soon take a hard look at Rajaković’s wallet, even though it must have felt good for him to vent his frustration following a difficult loss.

On Wednesday night, the Raptors take the court again to play the Los Angeles Clippers.
