“YOU ARE THE WORSE COACH I EVER MET” Star player disparaging HUSKER POWER head coach Matt Rhule
Lincoln, Nebraska) – Frank Solich, the former head coach of the Nebraska Huskers, will receive recognition for his nomination to the College Football Hall of Fame. Three coaches and nineteen players will be honored with inductions into the College Football Hall of Fame.
There are currently 27 other Nebraskans who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, making Solich the seventh Husker coach to do so. He guided the Huskers to a 48-19 record in six seasons at Nebraska from 1998 to 2003, although he ended with a 173-101 record. Nebraska was ranked third in the AP Poll in 1999 after defeating Texas in the
Fiesta Bowl, which Solich led, 22–6. In 1962, he played fullback for Bob Devaney while still wearing the red and white in addition to being a coach for the Huskers. Following his tenure as a coach at Nebraska, Solich spent 16 seasons (from 2005 to 2020) at Ohio University, where his team won 12 games and made 11 trips to bowl games. He is currently the Mid-American Conference’s most successful coach.
“Solich is someone who I have always respected and looked up to and he has been so kind and supportive of us since we have been here at Nebraska, and I can’t thank him enough,” head coach Matt Rhule said in reference to the incoming Hall of Famer. There will be a Hall of Fame induction.on 10 December 2024.
