Bengals opponent to host game in Brazil
MUNICH, BY —
One of next year’s opponents for the Cincinnati Bengals will be hosting a game as part of the NFL’s 2024 International Games.
The NFL announced four of the five teams who will host international games in 2024, and the Carolina Panthers, one of the nine teams the Bengals will visit next year, were among that group.
The Bengals are one of 13 clubs who have not played internationally since the COVID-19 pandemic, having last played in 2019 against the Los Angeles Rams in 2019.
Cincinnati also played Washington in 2016, a game that ended in a 27-27 tie.
Both of the Bengals’ previous international games have been played at Wembley Stadium in London.
This year’s Germany game will be the fourth to take place in the country and the second at Allianz Arena. In 2023, two games were played in Germany, both at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt.
Along with the Panthers being named the home team for the Munich game, the NFL announced the three host teams for its series of games in London: Jacksonville, Chicago and Minnesota, none of which appear on the Bengals’ 2024 schedule.
Jacksonville plays in London annually, while the Vikings will play their second game in London since 2022.
2024 will mark the first Bears game in London since 2019.
Another international game, to be held in São Paulo, Brazil, will be held, but it’s home team has not been designated.
