Report: Scott Satterfield, a head coach in Louisville, will be back in 2022–2023.

LOUISVILLE, KY: According to a report from WDRB’s Eric Crawford, Scott Satterfield will stay as the head coach of the Louisville football program despite widespread rumors that he might be fired.

At their end-of-regular season meeting on Friday, Satterfield and athletic director Vince Tyra came away from the discussion “encouraged about the program and their plans for its future”, according to Crawford.

“Today’s meeting was excellent,” Tyra said to Crawford. “Scott was prepared for the meeting with an extremely compelling and well-detailed game plan. It carries on the development he attempted to accomplish during the first three years. Everyone, in my opinion, feels that we’ve come a long way from three years ago and are still in a good place.

Tyra expressed his satisfaction with the program’s direction and the progress made since the Bobby Petrino era ended, but he also expressed disapproval of the state of the recruiting efforts and hinted at potential changes to the coaching staff, all of which have Tyra’s full support.
