NC State Wolfpack vs. Louisville Cardinals preview
The Cardinals end their 22-game losing streak and three-game skid when they play the Wolfpack at home.
Louisville’s victory over Miami (80–71) on Wednesday marked the program’s first real road victory in 23 attempts and its first since a victory at Georgia Tech on January 2, 2022. Miami came into the game having won 25 of its previous 26 home games.
ESSENTIAL FIRST HALF RUN: Louisville used a 15-2 run between 16:39 and 12:45 to take an 18-10 lead over the Hurricanes. Mike James scored 13 of the Cardinals’ 15 points, including two more jumpers and three 3-pointers. Miami retaliated by going on a 12-2, giving them a comfortable lead that they maintained until the end of the half.
IMPORTANT SECOND HALF RUN: The Hurricanes opened the half with an 8-0 run to increase their lead to eight points and ultimately nine. With less than ten minutes left, Louisville tied the score at 57 all after scoring seven straight points. Before Louisville scored the game’s final nine points, seven of which came from the free throw line, to secure the victory, the Cards and Canes engaged in a back-and-forth battle.
