Jeff Brohm is formally appointed head coach of football at Louisville.
The native of Louisville helped elevate Purdue as their head coach in addition to being a standout quarterback for the Cardinals as an assistant coach.

The Board of Directors of the University of Louisville Athletic Association formally approved Jeff Brohm’s appointment as the next head coach of the Purdue football team on Thursday afternoon.

Scott Satterfield, who departed on Monday to accept Cincinnati’s head coaching vacancy, is replaced by Brohm. In the history of the program, he will be the 24th head coach.

The moment the post opened up, the 51-year-old emerged as the clear favorite. The Brohms are regarded as the “First Family of Louisville Football,” having been born and raised in this city. Jeff was an assistant coach and player for the Cardinals in the past.

As a Power Five head coach, he has also demonstrated his abilities. During his six years in charge, Brohm led the Purdue program—which had finished 9-39 under the previous administration—to an overall record of 36-34 and a 26-25 record in Big Ten play, including an 8-5 record and a Big Ten West championship this season. Purdue had a 7-11 record against top-25 opponents under Brohm, including a 3-1 record against top-5 opponents.
