One of the top 10 defensive prospects according to CBS Sports is Cooper DeJean.

Although the Iowa Hawkeyes are widely known as “Tight End U,” they are quietly arguing that, given their consistent production of excellent defensive backs, they should also be included in the controversy surrounding “DBU.”

Riley Moss and Kaevon Merriweather were drafted into the NFL this year. Dane Belton joined the league last year. These three represent only the latest in a long line of gifted individuals. Next, and possibly the greatest of the lot, is Cooper DeJean, who made a big splash in 2022.

DeJean is already in high demand from NFL teams and scouts for his services should he decide to declare for the 2024 NFL draft, thanks to his success from the previous season and another offseason of development under defensive coordinator Phil Parker. DeJean is ranked among the top 10 defensive prospects for 2024 by CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso, so it is difficult to imagine him not joining the NFL after this season.
