After a crazy 2023–24 season, grading each Toronto Raptors player.

In the early going of the 2023–24 season, Darko Rajakovic, Scottie Barnes, and the Toronto Raptors faced formidable opponents such as the Mavericks, 76ers, and Celtics, which presented a significant challenge. After nine games, the dust has settled, and Toronto has a 4-5 record.

Toronto has been attempting to adapt on the fly to a more up-tempo offensive attack with a roster that was primarily constructed for Nick Nurse’s preferred style, in addition to overcoming the difficult schedule they were given. One problem that has persisted from last year is the lack of depth.

While Barnes and other players have contributed occasionally, the collective output of the entire roster is a little questionable. Toronto’s proficiency with a 3-point-heavy offense has fluctuated from game to game, which is to be expected with a team that features so many young players in important roles.

In a new system, many of Toronto’s best players have performed as expected and lived up to the hype. Sadly, there have been a few duds thus far, as shown by the team’s frequently plodding offense and tendency to play down to the few lower-tier opponents they have faced off against.
